Happiness, Joy, Glee


The only TV show I watch now (excluding The Office, Big Bang Theory and reruns of 10 Things I Hate About You... *cough*) is Glee.

It's amazing, uplifting, addictive and ohsoperfect. *clasps hands* I can't go a week without Glee and well, these past two weeks have been Glee-less (baseball has taken over). Anyway, due to my tendency of creeping (read: lurking) on forums, I saw that one of them asked the others to "sort" the Glee cast according to Houses (Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw). It was so much fun to do, and I'm posting my thoughts here for you to peruse.

The Kids

Rachel - Gryffindor. She's brave and ambitious and truly cares about those she loves. I know ambition is a Slytherin thing, but Rachel is all about the team!

Finn - Gryffindor. He's brave and athletic and does what is right (read: expected of him).

Quinn - Ravenclaw. She's very intelligent and that is Ravenclaw's most dominant feature.

Puck - Gryffindor, but I can see the Sorting Hat contemplating placing him in Slytherin (he's ambitious and was a bully pre-Slushie war), but it all boils down to the fact that he's brave and willing to care for Quinn and the baby, which shows bravery.

Artie - Ravenclaw. He's smart and determined and is the voice of the glee club.

Tina - Hufflepuff. She's kind and loyal and always stands by her friends.

Mercedes - Gryffindor. Sassy mama without fear. 'Nough said.

Kurt - Gryffindor. He always stands up for what he believes and will take one for the team.


The Adults

Emma - Hufflepuff. She's beyond kind and loyal and can you see her doing wrong...?! Nope.

Will - Gryffindor. Stood up for the glee kids and is very determined.

Terri - Slytherin. I see her as the female Slughorn; she's not pure evil like He Who Shall Not Be Named, but she is exceptionally self-centered and selfish.

Sue - Slytherin. Aggressive, ambitious and in it to win. Again, 'nough said.

Ken - Hufflepuff. He is a nice guy underneath it all (he just feels underappreciated) and is most definitely the underdog.

Howard Bamboo - Hufflepuff. The most loyal of all people. He is also very kind and honest. Poor Howard.

Sandy - Slytherin. It all boils down to his motives. He's selfish, self-centered and sells pot. Tsk tsk.

Figgins - Ravenclaw. Because posting that video on youtube was the smart thing to do and he's all about the numbers.

Yay, glee! Glee kids, hooray!

Perspective on my emotional hide and seek.

Most years we quietly celebrate Jenn's birthday; it's just us seven, we have some dinner, and then we go home. For her birthday this year, she asked one of her fellow nurses, Milly, to read our handwriting and interpret our personalities. Milly's interpretation of me was not that far off-base; she inferred that I'm reserved, prideful, loyal, hard-working, stubborn, and creative --- but she also told me that I can come off as "cold". Now, it's interesting to me that what stuck with me most is the fact she called me cold. Not the fact she correctly guessed that I like to feel people out before baring my thoughts to them. Not the fact she told me I'm creative, but am wasting my talents. Nope. What affected me most about her reading is that I can come off as cold to certain people. I've been called so many things in my life (haven't we all?), but the things I've been called in the past have always had a more... well, a positive spin. I...
