DJ Eon

I only just realised that I didn't blog about Eon's night as DJ!
How could that happen, you might ask?? Well, easy: I'm busy with final assignments and exams and am presently looking for a place to stay while I work in Montreal this summer. That's not to say that last Saturday night wasn't amazing, because it was! Eon was the best dj I have seen spin! 

The songs he played were varied (ranging from be-bop to old school rap to reggae). I think he might have gotten some rock in there, too, but what with the alcohol and dancing and chatting with the Saint Alvia guys, I really don't remember it. All I know is that Nicole didn't complain about his music selection (which she usually does when there's a dj involved), and everyone was gettin' down!


It was pretty chill at Republik.


We got there at 10:30 (we knew it was going to be busy because The Most Serene Republic was playing before Eon). We were all EXHAUSTED! but still managed to enjoy the preceding acts. If only a little bit.

So anyway, after Fabiana and Lucina got their red-bulls and Nicole got her drink, too, we started to perk up. Eon was going to dj... how could we not be stoked??? That, and the fact the Saint Alvia guys, Jay and Pat had told us that they were coming to watch his set, too so no amount of sleepiness was going to make us leave!

Good thing, too because once I came back from the bar, they were all there! The Saint Alvia Cartel guys (who remembered us as "the girls who drove in from Edmonton!"), Jay, Pat and, of course, Eon!



So we danced, drank and had a killer time! We even managed to snap a few pics!

Perspective on my emotional hide and seek.

Most years we quietly celebrate Jenn's birthday; it's just us seven, we have some dinner, and then we go home. For her birthday this year, she asked one of her fellow nurses, Milly, to read our handwriting and interpret our personalities. Milly's interpretation of me was not that far off-base; she inferred that I'm reserved, prideful, loyal, hard-working, stubborn, and creative --- but she also told me that I can come off as "cold". Now, it's interesting to me that what stuck with me most is the fact she called me cold. Not the fact she correctly guessed that I like to feel people out before baring my thoughts to them. Not the fact she told me I'm creative, but am wasting my talents. Nope. What affected me most about her reading is that I can come off as cold to certain people. I've been called so many things in my life (haven't we all?), but the things I've been called in the past have always had a more... well, a positive spin. I...
