Foo! Foo! Foo! Foo!

3/28/08 Last night was the night of the Foo Fighters concert. They are quite possibly the most amazing performers I've ever been lucky enough to experience. It was song after song after song... hardly any need for audience/performer interaction (although Dave Grohl is one of the funniest people ever). Dave Grohl. Oh my GOD this man is a Rock God! He is talented, energetic and funny as all hell! I never tired of seeing his scrawny legs carry his ass all over the stage!  The crowd was INSANE! Taylor Hawkins had an amazing drum solo that went on for about five minutes... oh my! So incredibly sexy. There definitely is something to be said of drummers. Hahaha! Nate Mendel and Chris Shiflett were pretty quiet, but during Taylor's solo, they stood to the side of the stage and admired his drum genius. *Sigh*  I took about a million photos (Nicole's memory card filled up! Oh my! while my battery ran out. Lame-o) and I bought an amazing tee.  My gosh, did I mention that they came bac

Huzza! The Saint Alvia Cartel is going to play JUNOFest on Friday, April 4 at 1:00 am... YAY! These guys are soooooooo soooooooooo sOOOOOO good. It'll be fun to see them live once more. Then, on Saturday, April 5, Eon Sinclair , bass GENIUS from Bedouin, will be entertaining the Calgarian masses to some of his DJ styles at 1:00 in the am. fuck. a. duck. It should be a great time.

Independent Summer

It's weird thinking that I will be completely alone this summer. No family, no friends; just me. I am a little bird... flapping her wings to FLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!! Haha! I know I'm a geek, but I'm so stoked for my Independent Summer. I've wanted to experience independence since I was seventeen. I know what I'm about to relate is counter-argumentative, but during every single career day in high school, I would avoid the job fair and universities at all costs. 'Who needed education when you had passion for life?' I thought. Apparently my friends didn't agree. Chantal was the first of my friends to embrace her future when she applied at the UofA. I did nothing. Then Janis applied. I did nothing. Then my art teacher, Mr. Matsuba, told us all during art class about Student A and Student B. Student A applied to college, got a part-time job, earned his degree, got a real job and is now a big boy. Student B, however, took a year off after high school, he travelled

Travis

I am so in love with Travis . They are fantastic and, while I am in love with other kinds of music and other bands, my Travis thirst cannot be quenched! I go through these phases all the time, but I think that this phase might never end. I was on youtube today and found a whole bunch of their videos. Sure, I have their CDs, but there's something about a good music video that adds to the story. There's a few songs in which that's not the case. You watch the video and you're disappointed. Not with Travis. I love going through music phases.  and my favourite Travis video

I AM VICTORIOUS!!

I got a call today from the Quebec / Alberta Student Exchange coordinator. She had very good news. How good?? Well, let's just say that the smile on my face was permanent. Seriously, I felt like a cheesy commercial--and the worst part is that "Walkin' On Sunshine" was my soundtrack... haha!! So anyway, she called to tell me that I am one of 25 Albertan students going to Quebec to work for the summer!! HUZZ! I will be working in my field (communications) and so my work experience will count as credit towards my fourth and final year! *WHEW!* To highlight how ecstatic I was about the news, here is the youtube video of "Walkin' On Sunshine." Enjoy.

Celeste is back!

I was very bad at updating my blog in February. I only have one post. YIKES. The reason for this is not that I was lazy. Nor was it that I was too busy with school. It wasn't even because of my busy schedule. Nope. The reason why I sucked at updating my blog last month is because my beautiful, brand-new Mac's hard-drive went berserk ! It was totally fried. This happened back in early February (right before Reading Week--on February 8). I only just got it back. Damn. At least the Best Guy Geek Squad guy was nice and kept me up to date on my computer's progress.

Concert-Palooza

EEEEEEEEEEK!! Sloan is playing on April 3 in Calgary. Edmonton is only three hours away from Calgary. Bedouin Soundclash is also playing that night.... These two bands, along with Finger 11 , are playing a FREE, FREE, FREE concert! FREE! There is no reason as to why I shouldn't go. Hell, I have to go! First the Matt Costa concert, then it's the Foo Fighters this month, and next month it's Concert-Palooza in Calgary for the JUNOs. Wowzers. Did I mention that The Saint Alvia Cartel is also playing during JUNOFest....'cause they are!! Frig I love Cowtown. April will be a bowl of musical goodness. Yum!

MATT COSTA!

So Nicole and I went to see Matt Costa on February 12 and the man is amazing!! The band that opened for him is called Delta Spirit and they were quite the band. Their drummer was amazing and the rapport that they had with the audience was pretty fantastic. I was very impressed with their performance so I just had to buy their CD.... problem is that they were out for the night-- make that TOUR. Fast-forward three weeks later and still no CD. They were good enough to send out an email and let all the fans know at least. I did take a very awesome pic of their bass player. You can see it by clicking here . In between sets, Nicole and I, being the narcissists we are, took a whole bunch of photos. 'Twas fun. She is seriously the best person to go to a concert with! The stamp read "Trip Of A Lifetime" Too bad the other people around us love DRAMA. Seriously, what is it with high schoolers with fake IDs and attitude?? It's like they wan
